Flying out the country in duty free I was browsing a bit of prices just to 'see' well an 400g Cadbury choclate slab (the biggest you can find) was in DutyFree R96.00... flying back going through duty free they were costing R69.00... now for the best part, in South Africa at SPAR, which includes VAT, 2x200g (taking the 1x400g will be cheaper and they were not available) came to R37.00.
Also my wife came to pick me up and she stopped at the open air parking bay and took no longer than 15 minutes to find me at the airport and had to pay... R30.00 for 0-60 minutes, R60 1-2 hours...
WTF... South Africa has become so expensive (same input from my brother who is a pilot is UAE, Mother in Law came here for a holiday from Portugal. I personally found clothes to be cheaper (for the same quality) in Portugal as here.
