I remember Bread Ahead from my 10 years in Durbs, great bakery alas it is a Durbs only business AFAIK

I never knew they were in Durban only, since theres one around the corner from my apartment block and then one at Gateway and at Pavillion and also one at Sanlam Centre in Pinetown ..... so i always thought that there would be others all over the place

the one thats like a 1 minute drive away from me is open 24 hours too ...... they also supply many fast food franchises and takeaways with burger buns and hot dog rolls so they do some serious bread stuff

Hazeldean Square has a Deeghuys. I don't know if their Portuguese rolls are any good, but if their other goods are a benchmark then they should be excellent.
Plus you get take them hot out of the oven.
