inexpensive speaker drivers wanted
« on: April 13, 2010, 01:51:23 PM »
Anybody has some inexpensive - and easy to use, think first order xo, drivers around for sale, looking for 5 inch / 4inch drivers, and 3/4 or 1 inch tweets. Will end up as ambient sound right up against a wall with either no port or a very low tuned port.

Saw those kef Coda7 drive units a while ago, similar idea, except I can get a suitable whole speaker 2ndhand for about the same price. So around R500 for new drivers will be cool, i'm sure some scope creep might happen, also may get two pairs worth of drivers. otherwise i'll just get the 2ndhands.
OK! I've had it! I don't give anymore Kharma. Kharma should work in mysterious ways...

What about a generically branded pair of ceiling mounts?

Double storey, single layer wooden floors, sheesh! i forgot about stripping those for drivers... and my bedroom spikkas are of the same, shall we say provenance... will check it out although Shonver has the coda7 drivers for the right money, if they check out undamaged, they'll be ahead of the ceilling speakers.
