Hang on to your Sony amp Mgongo or that bravia panel or Vaio touchscreen.  The inventor of the walkman, the betamax and the blu-ray disc is calling it quits on consumer goods.  This is after burning their fingers badly in the cellphone and TV markets.  The camera industry is also under a constant pounding by cellphones and a number of professional photographers are favouring the connected multitasking little gadgets over the famed DSLR "weapons".

Personally, the only Sony product I have is a Playstation 3, bought many moons ago when it was cheaper than all blu-ray players on the market at around R6000 a pop.  It has served me well, even with 3D movies recently.
