Saw there was a topic for reference source material for Audio side of things... but nothing for the Home Cinema / Theatre side of things? so I thought I'd start one off;

Awesome, just plain awesome;

Master & Commander - chapter 4 (i think) where the ship comes out of the fog and the first attack starts. the constant creaking in the background, and then the canon blast is enough to rip your pants off if played on a decent system.
Layer Cake - the scene where the attacks the guy in the Coffee shop. Sick. and its done so well that should you not feel sick after seeing it you have something wrong with you.
Wall E - the whole film.
Vertical Limit - the white detail and contrasts between black and white really push a display to show off how good it handles with contrast.
Gladiator - just a brilliant film.

who else has suggestions?
