Canon P&S issue

I bought a Canon SX110i about 13 months ago and it's started playing up. 95% of the time I shoot on full AUTO - but I liked the capabilies of this camera to do shutter speed, aperature and ISO manually.

I've done comparissons with an older, cheaper Kodak (AUTO) and even my old Samsung 2MP phone. Look how terrible and dark mine are!

What do you guys think it is?

Canon :
