So this is how I spentlast night. The recent fire here, brought all kinds of wondrous and long forgotten possessions into the light.

A few days ago, I found this little Michell Syncro, bought a long time ago. It was in a neglected, dusty state and things were missing, such as a finger lift, arm lowering device, there was rust on the countersunk allen screws and a headshell wire was broken off.

Deciding I couldn't put the pretty one away without some tittivations, I gave her the makeover last night.

New arm lift, nos mm cartridge, rinse out and replace bearing oil, polish all rusty bits, fit new phono plugs and earth tag and polish plinth.

So, here she is, awaiting its new acrylic cover. Upper hinge parts are missing and these I'll have to make myself.

Now, show me the CD player one can tweak, keep your 'eye in' and keep out of mischief...
