Ouch! Alas!!
Unwinding here (should perhaps have done so under 'General') after having gone to and fro for a few hours working out a general 60W KT88 design for an international group.
Suddenly the general EF86-ECC81 (LTP) design is not so easy and suitable. Firstly, the variation in data (I mean graphs) one finds on the internet. Yech! Or perhaps (no comment please!) this member's brain is slipping somewhat, experience being overtaken by age.
Conclusion: Maybe the reason why 0,1% - 0,15% distortion with valve amplifiers is no longer found, in contrast to yesteryear, when that was the standard of several manufacturers. Well, this forum is always relaxing to read.
