I am tearing down all my bulkheads and fitting a new ceiling , with a 100mm void , nutec ceiling with 24x led downlighters
Around R28000 (8m x 6m)

I am removing a 2m x 2m sliding door and a corner window the same , about 8m2 of Glass blocks (with a ridged random pattern to diffuse) Around R14 000

I am fitting acoustic paneling from Acoustic Solutions with battens and 25mm fibrglass/rockwool on ALL walls in the room and some on ceiling , about 48m2
R48 000

Double glazing on small windows R5000

(smaller treatments are also gonna be implemented after the room is done , like corner bass traps etc.)
Most of the furniture will also be removed as it rattles , barring couch etc , for a small "loungette"

The door will have a sheet of 12mm clear acrylic either side to make is soundproof but still let in light

The whole room will be much more soundproof than before. special attention will be placed on any area that can possibly rattle , I listen to bass heavy music loud.

Total is round R100 k.. I really hope all this sorts out the room. I'm aiming to have one of the best audio rooms in SA or at least in CT which doesnt look like a studio and to maximise my G1/Devialet setup

Here are some pics of the room so you can see what Im talking about
