The mind boggles. Eskom is down now (20:00) yet I selected 5 areas around our place from that Android app. It says there is no load shedding today !!

Eish so we had a scheduled 8pm to 11pm power outage but again this morning from 6 am to 8m  :headbanger: this is getting ridiculous.
I can just imagine the chaos this morning at the major intersections with people trying to get to work.
Funny thing though according to my domestic who's parents live in Tembisa they never have load shedding.

I can see the cost going up to cover the diesel and make the beautician and dentist who now own oil companies stinking rich.

Anyone else out or have unscheduled black outs?

"Grid Watch" Android app "powered by News 24" works really well. Shedding On/Off alerts are on time, schedule display is excellent.

Warehouse office is out at present - 06h00 to 10h00. Scheduled Load shedding.
Business park office will be out from 14h00 to 18h30. Scheduled load shedding.

So I'll manage to get 4 hours work done today. Add another 1 each way whilst laptop battery is still good & use phone as a hotspot.

Thanks will check that out.

We have a local community whatsapp group for crime and these kind of issues and till now they have been spot on with the load shedding.Seems this morning was totally unscheduled.

ShedAlert is another good Android app, can add multiple zones

One of the first I tested - never received any alerts from that one...

... Phone...? What phone?

Seriously - had it both on the tablet (WiFi only) and the phone with only our home area configured - nothing.

I make use of LoadsheddingSA on Android. I get daily notifications stating (e.g.) "medium possibility of loadshedding", ect. Included is an hourly graph of expected electricity usage as well as Eksdom's twitter feed.

Today is the first time that the notification wasn't on time. Probably because it started 6h00
