Anyone else seen some of the recent 3D movie releases? I like them, quite a lot. It adds a new layer without being overbearing.

Now it seems the likes of Sony and Samsung are preparing to sell the world and their dog a 3D TV to replicate the experience at home. I don't know about you, but I'd definitely go for it if I was buying a TV and it didn't cost that much extra. It seems like most Blu-ray players can be updated to handle it in software too. You're still going to have to wear the polarized glasses but 3D is not for everything so it may just be ok. And that's before you even consider the implications for game consoles!

Am I thinking like too much of a geek here, or could there be something to it?
