Hi, everyone! I am new to the forum.
I need help from fellow members in choosing a new amp for my hi-fi setup. For my living room, I've had a pair of KEF LS50's going through an Audiolab 8200cdp+8200p combo for a year now. I always found the sound to be a bit lean and clinical. But not until I bought a pair of Q Acoustics 2020i plus MA A100 for my bedroom recently, that I found my living room setup sound no where as good despite costing twice as much. I start to think the 8200p's lean sounding approach doesn't go well with the slightly bright sounding LS50.
I want to keep my 8200cdp as source and look for an amp better suited for the LS50. I see both Arcam A19 and Rega Elex-R get excellent reviews from whathifi. I've heard Arcam compliments KEF really well, but I am afraid A19's 50W per channel cannot get the best out of the LS50. Any recommendation and suggestion are welcome. Thanks in advance!
