You summed it up.

Think I watched 1-2 episodes when it started but I've been downloading it from get-go. One day (well, one YEAR rather) I might even watch it.

I've only watched a handful of episodes.
It really is a teen series, as is Supergirl, Flash, Arrow, Buffy, Vampire Diaries, Originals etc.

Nobody mentioning it here,  but GOT?  Wow, did they get the ending just right.

Problem with such a hugely popular show is that most would prefer the saccharine happy Hollywood ending - thank god they resisted that.

Epic TV - gonna take a while for anyone or anything to match it.

And yes, yes, I do realise that quite a few people don't like it - taste, as always, is king.

Its starts off that way... but it evolves quite nicely.

The show was definitely planned for 5 seasons.. then they said lets role with it...
A decade later..

Yea, it was a good show up until Kripke's original arc was completed (though the show took a season or two to find its footing), from there it devolved into what we have today. It was amazing television at one point.

I seem to be a tad late on these things, but..

Binge watching The Shield ( nothing to do with any Marvel related crap ): American cop drama, gritty, VERY gritty, ran from 2002 to 2008 so positively ancient.

One of the best ever.

Fleabag on Amazon Prime is really good, if you're into dark British comedy.
(It's not a sitcom. Also, it's definitely not one for the kids.)

Yup, some older series are real classics:

The Wire (unfortunately only on Showmax at the moment)

OZ (not available on streaming yet according to justwatch.com)

Someone borrowed (and never returned) my OZ box sets. Great show, excellent cast.

Watching "Chernobyl". I remember this happening in the early 80's but never really understood the extent of the devastation radiation can cause! The injuries and suffering to those directly exposed is shocking. Part that got to me though is in episode 4, when soldiers have to go back to all the villages and towns that were hastily evacuated, to kill all the domestic animals left behind that were now contaminated. I cant imagine having to shoot dogs, young and old, some with litters, even cats. As mentioned in the episode, these were pets and many would run happily to their executioners.
Very sad.   :vsad:
I saw Sputnik, well... actually the booster rocket that went into orbit with it!!

even more sad is that so much loss of life occurred through the stupidity of stubborn men .... and that part is true enough

the thing is though Chernobyl is indeed riveting TV - it is hard hitting and impactful viewing and sadly a lot of it is based on fact ..... but its a definite must watch ..... and i have only seen the first two episodes so far - but IMHO far more impactful TV viewing for this year than the utterly crappy final season of game of thrones
