Whoever originally coined the word 'Lisp' and put an 'S' in it's spelling, is a Douchebag !!

Audeze LCD-X Audiophile Headphones-Open Box - cplanaudio.co.za -Last one in Stock

R 17,500

The ad was placed in early June, but when I checked about a week ago they were still available.  Can only imagine the price is negotiable by now.

I considered this for a couple of minutes ... seriously good 'phones for seriously good money.  But that would destroy my head-fi upgrade path.  So I got a nice pair of unused 2nd hand entry-level Grado's instead.

You need some serious neck muscles for that LCD-X... Great price though, but also seems a polarising headphone from what I've read on it.

Anyone done this?  What was the ultimate expense?  And how do they sound?

And nobody was interested in my Violectric V100 @ half the cost of Phonitor whilst in the same class and includes a built in DAC? :moron:

Imo, none of these deserve to be on the heads up thread, they are all overpriced. The Audeze EL-8 has been widely panned for their poor sound quality. You can get the Oppo PM-3 brand new for R7k from local dealers which will sound better. There is also the Hifiman HE-400S which will be around the same price and the early reviews have been very positive so far.
