Ozark on Netflix

Some really bad-ass people.   The main character himself is a money launderer for the Mexican drug cartels and who watches porn
His wife ends an affair with a financier, who "falls" from his 80th floor apartment
They move to Ozark in Missouri
The people there are even worse
They distribute drugs hidden in bibles, the priest does not know (he says)

I don't think there is one straight person in the whole cast

Music is the shorthand of emotion

The Nightingale. A Low budget Australian movie that packs a punch!
One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.

I watched Fast and Furious presents Hobbs & Shaw this weekend. Standard skop, skiet and donner but the Atmos soundtrack is superb.

Joker
Excellent movie with a brilliant Joaquin Phoenix. My pick for the best Joker yet.

Peanut Butter Falcon
I enjoyed this movie a great deal. The chemistry between Shia LaBeouf and Zack Gottsagen, an actor with Down Syndrome, is wonderful. May well be my favourite drama of the year.

Just got back from Star Wars : Rise of the Skywalker.

Not bad, a lot of fan service going on and negates the point of much of TLJ (which isnít a bad thing).  As a fan, Iím happy to have ended my 42 year Star Wars journey with it.

Iíve seen some of it (YouTube before taken down) but itís not really the same as a film or nine!  I think itís time I let the younger audience take over which was admittedly what I thought as soon as Jar Jar Binks appeared at the Phantom Menace premiere.

Finally saw Das Boot on Netflix. German dialogue with English subtitles. I really enjoyed it. Takes a good while to get going, but it probably captures a lot of what it was like being on those old submarines, including the boredom and bad seas. Those depth charges must have been an absolute nightmare to endure and hearing the sonar pings of doom approaching.

Captain: Now it's their turn.

Also enjoyed the Irishmen, but need to watch it another time to make up my mind about it, but over 3+ hours not going to happen anytime soon.

I know a lot of people that loved The Irishmen. I for one found it extremely long and tedious to watch, albeit not a terrible movie

I only saw "The Joker" for the 1st time recently , I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is .  Joaquin Phoenix really is brilliant , even though the role bares similarities to his role in "The Master" .

War Machine. Drek. Managed to endure it for just over an hour. Pointless (a bit like war, maybe the joke is on me). Exceptionally boring.

Teori Tygra / Tiger Theory

Set in Czechia, English subtitles [which i hardly noticed.  Noticed that 'j' is like in Afrikaans/Dutch.]
European but not the dark or melancholy type.  Comic style.  (That's what one google result said. Not comedy.)
Very funny.  I laughed out loud a lot.  Just funny dialog.  The theme is basically controlling wives.
I enjoyed it so much, I wished it would just carry on for another hour.
Google results, misleading, make it seem like a silly comedy.
Highly recommended.  Not on Netflix, apparently.  (I did my best to search with Google.)
