Jamo adds two new speaker series to its Concert range
Danish loudspeaker brand Jamo has updated its popular Concert E 8 series of speakers with new aesthetics and what's claimed to be 'a host of innovative audio technologies 'trickled down' from its higher-end ranges'. The result is the Concert C 60 series, designed for use in both home cinema and hi-fi applications and currently comprising eight models: two floorstanders, two bookshelf models, a centre speaker, a dipolar surround speaker, and two active subwoofers.

The design improvements find a redesigned grill/top plate plus a diamond-cut aluminium logo, with all the speakers available in Dark Apple or Black Ash finishes. Technologies common across the range include Decoupled Tweeter Technology for better high frequency reproduction; a Waveguide faceplate that apparently enables a more even sonic dispersion; and hard conical cones that don't suffer audible break-ups at working frequencies.

The C 60 range should be available now, with prices looking like this:
C 607: ?600 per pair
C 605: ?460 a pair
C 603: ?300 a pair
C 601: ?240 a pair
C 60 CENTRE: ?190 each
C 60 SURROUND: ?320 per pair
SUB 550: ?350 each
Sub 650: ?440 each.

While the C 60 series is positioned at the more entry-level end of Jamo's speaker range, the new C 80 series comprises premium hi-fi and home cinema speakers uncompromisingly designed, claims Jamo, 'to recreate the excitement of a live concert but in a domestic environment'.

As with the C 60s, the C80 series are all available in Dark Apple or Black Ash, but the C 80 designs feature laminated arc-shaped cabinets that combine unusual rigidity with black, high-gloss top plates.

When it comes to technology, the C 80s all feature the Decoupled Tweeter technology, Waveguide faceplate, and hard conical cones mentioned in the C 60 part of this story, but also enjoy: a Centre-Plug which replaces the traditional dust cap and allows a more responsive, stable sound at high volumes; Active Impedance Correction, a technique that enhances midrange clarity so voices sound clearer; and Bi-wireable terminals on the C 809/807/805 and 803 models.

The C 80 range should also be available now, and will set you back:
C 809: ?1600 per pair
C 807: ?1300 per pair
C 803: ?640 per pair
C 80 Centre: ?400 each
C 80 Surround: ?660 per pair
C 80 Subwoofer: ?800 each
