Nice to get something done in such a short space of time. I have to say though that I'm quite sceptical about the hot glue.

+1 for Sika if you want to stick stuff together for good. I was also in yacht building and if it is good for structural joints on seaworthy craft, I will trust it with my speakers.
It's only hifi people....

Just as simple.  More stable.  More secure and sonically I would wager rather good.
