/\/\/\ Very nice! Enjoy her...
I love music - analog and digital. Even listening to the Blues makes me happy. During the day I coach and counsel, after hours I indulge in my second passion - listening to vinyl and restoring turntables. Some I keep, some I sell...

guys, could I use one of these as a phono stage into my AVR?

What would I use as the output into the AVR - PreOut?
Oppo UDP-203, Cambridge Audio CXR200, PSB Imagine T2 towers (bi-amped), PSB Image C5 centre, Monitor Audio Bronze FX surrounds (bipole), Velodyne Impact 10 sub

Use the tape record out, not the pre out.

I am so tempted to get a TT, but the availability of source material worries me.

The availability isn't the issue. It's the price!

Hi all, I have decided to resurrect my record collection which has been stored away for the last decade or so and am looking at something half decent to play them on.

I need help with a new turntable and pre-amp. My current system is a Technics SL-B20 fitted with a Shure encore me75p, played through an old Sony TA- F40 (as a pre-amp, my main amp does not have a phono stage).

All input will be greatly appreciated.

Dave.

Indication of budget ...and your idea of "half decent".   Your current cart is a Pmount?

Thanks for the reply.Budget is about 10k for pre-amp and turntable but I could stretch it a bit if need be.Been looking at the following as they get good reviews and can be sourced locally.

1.Rega Planar 2
2.Pro-ject Debut Carbon
3.Pro-ject Essential lll
4.Audio Technica LP5
5.Audio Technica AT-LP120

edit: Yes the Shure is P mount, looking to upgrade it as well though.

Maybe contact Achim - he's got some Rega goodies going at the moment, or try the Turntable Guy (who sometimes posts here but has a shop in Mowbray and is on the sticky tree)
