Ryan Adams and the Cardinals - 'How do you keep love alive'  off the Cold Roses album. I guess it must be country rock.  :)

Ok, I realise the OP says " track " but what the heck:

- Classical: Beethoven's Piano Concerto nr 4, First movement. Wilhelm Kempff and Paul Van Kempen. I have Beethoven's piano concerto's by 7 different pianists ( and sometimes different recordings by the same pianist) but this is music of such depth that every soloist reveals something else about it. This specific recording in mono from the fifties nogal.

- Jazz: Keith Jarrett, The Köln Concert, first movement. Still with the piano, I know, but what a glorious once off experience this must have been.

- Rock: Mogwai, New Paths to Helicon Part 2.  5 Guitarists, no irritatingly pretentious lyrics, music that will transport you, ears bleeding, to a post rock nirvana.

The big five o is rapidly approaching, and I would love to celebrate my midlife crisis by seeing them live in Glasgow.

Only a pleasure man! Also get your hands on the album 'Zimology', a really beautiful album. Well, all his albums are great. There's one that's not listed there: San Featuring Zim Ngqawana - San Song
Also try some Bheki Mseleku.
