Over the last 25 years, I've built/rebuilt/modified/plinthed and refurbished a fair number of turntables.

I'm back at the point where I want to design and build a "b@lls-to-the-wall", no compromise deck...

Between the "Dogs" and other esteemed contributors to this forum, I'm pretty sure that we have the "know-how" to put something together, that's better than "world class". I'm looking for original ideas...

GITM did this beauty a while back: http://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,2429.msg32012.html#msg32012

Paul did a Lenco rebuild here: http://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,2558.0.html
where Eniac posted some pics of my last Lenco rebuild.

I'm thinking along the lines of: Inverted (air?) bearing, Massive laminated platter, Separate motor housing, Minimalist high mass "plinth"...? Hydraulics? Pneumatics? Damped/floating armboard? Microprocessor speed control?
