Get Better Sound
« on: May 14, 2014, 10:12:31 PM »
I've been in contact with the author of Get Better Sound and if there's sufficient interest would be able to purchase a box of books ( (28/box) at a reasonable discount to individual orders (with the costs of landing the books in JHB being borne equally by all involved). Apart from room treatment, following the principles outlined in this book has brought about the biggest improvement in music reproduction and enjoyment in my listening experience.  Poll will run for 10 days - if the box is fully subscribed I'll go ahead and confirm viability prior to placing an order (please state interest in thread also so I can PM if/when necessary).

Do we know approx cost of the book, at least we know we can add approx 30-40% for shipping.

This could very well be of interest

Regular price is $44.50 plus shipping & handling of $23.95.  Presently he's running a special on the book of $29.80 so if you order alone you're in for a minimum of $53.75 plus whatever customs add for picking their nose.  Ordering a box would yield a fair discount on the book cost and I imagine some reduction in shipping and handling vs 28 individual orders.

If you're in please use the voting button - that's how I'm going to ascertain whether or not there's sufficient interest to pursue it.

HI,

I have voted to be in.

(As a mildly unpleasant aside: I ordered four books and two DVD sets from Jim Smith a couple of years ago. Paid for them, confirmed order, then after a reasonable wait for post/clearance/etc, I received the goods - but got six sets of DVDs and no books!. Despite me writing a couple of e-mails back to GBS to request a resolution, nothing transpired.)

I hope this one will work out fine.

So Richard, have you put anything into practice from the book?  What are the results?
