Hi Guys
I would like to attempt a DIY build fora subwoofer amp
My skill level is not up to scratch with the guys here but an am somewhat technical and would be a good way to learn
So here are my thoughts and would really appreciate any input
Was looking at getting the this case as a start - http://www.ebay.com/itm/0905C-Full-Aluminum-Enclosure-mini-AMP-case-Preamp-box-PSU-chassis-AQ-/191076778250?pt=US_Amplifier_Parts_Components&hash=item2c7d10410a
Or Even this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1707-Full-Aluminum-Enclosure-AMP-case-power-amplifier-box-chassis-YD-/121173856471?pt=US_Amplifier_Parts_Components&hash=item1c368650d7
Now here is the confusing part, from my searches online i can across 2 amps that seems decent for it's price
http://www.ebay.com/itm/L12-power-amplifier-dual-channel-with-rectifier-filter-300W-2Rx2-Assembled-board-/221311265793?pt=US_Amplifier_Parts_Components&hash=item33872dec01
This one is actually 2 amps for very cheap
http://www.ebay.com/itm/L20-Audio-power-amplifier-Kit-2pcs-350W-350W-AMP-Assembled-BOARD-/221313166717?pt=US_Home_Audio_Amplifiers_Preamps&hash=item33874aed7d
And lastly this

So now the hard part
On the first amp (L12) i see that it takes in AC voltage so i'm assuming a normal step down transformer will work just fine here i'm assuming
I have a transformer from APC 1000 UPS marked 430-1215A, think it does 24AC out but could be mistaken
This is the only info i could really get on it
430-1215A POWER TRANSFORMER (XFMR 1000VA/230V DBL BST TWR ROHS FOR STATIC CONVERTER)
Now my other question, for the Amps that need DC voltage, i understand that i need to convert the AC to DC but how do i determine how many Watts would be sufficient
If i use a Toroidal Transformer is it simply from 220V AC In to Transformer to say 32V AC out and then Power board and then to amp
Sorry for my lack of knowledge
this is my first attempt at such a project but would really like to give it a go
The other 2 needs DC power
