Windows 7 and Network Sharing
« on: March 08, 2014, 04:59:02 PM »
Hi All

I recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7. Previously I had no problems sharing my media on my PC and seeing them on my Blu Ray play both via LAN and wirelessly.

However, Windows 7 seems problematic... I see generic folders appear on the blu ray player menu, and for my files to display I have to put them in a "Public" folder. And even so...not all my video files show.

Any ideas on Windows 7 settings?

It is quite a convoluted explanation which I don't want to type out again, but the Microsoft website has a particularly lucid explanation

Go to:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-za/windows/share-files-with-someone#1TC=windows-7

Don't skip any steps and if you don't achieve what you intend, ask again
