Time to give some exposure to the sadly neglected jazz violin!

I was fortunate enough to see Tim Kliphuis at an once-off show at Truth Coffee Roasting in CT a few years ago, that night he did not have his usual trio with him with but two students from UCT's School of Music did a great job of standing in, one of them a beautiful blonde lady on the acoustic bass!

His playing pays homage to Stéphane Grappelli - jazz with no wind instruments or percussion.  I find an appealing clarity and depth to this type music:
