There are some jazz bands that just sound better live and imo Incognito is one of them. Love their cover version of the definitive version of Boz Scaggs 'Lowdown'. Here's two versions with Mario Biondi performing this song [Chaka Khan in first video, some nice eye candy for the boys here] :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHnsBZ_kL0I

Also check out 'Aways There' :

If you love their old stuff their live in Japan [ Blue Note, Tokyo] has the best for content, the picture quality is not so hot. Can't find any decent source of their concert performances in the USA which looks fantastic as seen from their tour guide video, would love to get this on blue ray if/when available.

Here's another, excellently produced, looks like a fantastic setting [ wish I could have been in that room], a version close to Al Jarreau's & Kathleen Battle's live version of this song [Shonver, just for you], love what the guitar player is doing, fantastic ending, goose bump inducing - Carmen Souza " My Favourite Things" :

Two beautiful versions from Sting's album All This Time, the songs 'A Thousand Years' and 'Perfect Love...Gone Wrong' with a stellar cast, amongst others Dominic Miller, Manu Katche, Chris Botti, etc, love the playing of the cellist Jaques Morelenbaum.

This youtube video is not so hot, the cd does it more justice, however just to see the players, lucky, lucky audience :

Sting is a master at painting shades of different  colours into his music, which is why I think he is perfect for introspective, mood enhancing jazz...

Thx Allan, will investigate this album!

Don't know if you guys are familiar with Nina Simone's song Four Woman, an excellent version can be found with Lisa Simone, Dianne Reeves, Lizz Wright and Angelique Kidjo here :

However, please check out this version played by Berklee Black Lives Matter, an all female group, excellent all round :

^^ Nice Mike. Hadouk Trio has been a favorite introduced by Rodney and we played it a lot in the past, good to test your system with, has lotsa bass and a big range of percussive instruments.

I specifically love the sound of the Duduk, an Armenian oboe, if you like bass clarinet you will like the warmer, earthier sound of this instrument. It is used here in a more jazzy South- Mid American/African way than in a technical European way.

Favorite track : Suave Corridor.

If you like this try : If You Look Far Enough (ECM), Arild Andersen with Ralph Towner & Nana
Vasconcelos

One of the best ECM produced and recorded albums of percussionist Nan Vasconcelos. Always used to test systems with.
