Shaun, yes I did. Bought a few new one's and this particular one is by far the best ( very well produced). He is by now beyond 76 years young!

It reminds of the seminal John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman album:

Of all the versions of "My One & Only Love " this is certainly one best, followed by "You Are Too Beautiful", another fantastic version. A must have album.

Don't make me haul Stan Getz out of the cd rack. I rather enjoy Mils Davis' *Kind Of Blue*. An emotionally stirring album imo.

Loving this thread already, will add my 2 cents worth later on!

Alan I love that Hartman and Coltrane recording, really something. Have you heard the Kurt Elling tribute to them? Very good as well.

Sticky mods? Please.

One of my most favorite singers and guitarists, Rosa Passos :

Another singer with a superb voice and albums that are well produced, Nenna Freelon :

Another fantastic male singing voice, Andy Bey :

I own all the music I list and have more albums by the artists listed.

Thanks for the sticky!

If you like Miles trumpet, try Claudio Roditi :

The recording is not the best, is alive recording date, but the music is superb .

This Paquito D'Rivera album is one of my "desert island" records, love the music and the recording (Telarc) :

Mistro, I have a few Kurt Elling cds, was listening to a 1998 Yellow Jackets cd this evening, Club Nocturne and the last track "All is Quiet" is performed by Kurt Elling with them. Jonathan Butler also features on this album. Most YellowJackets cds are produced very well and I like the bass player, Jimmy Haslip and Bob Mintzer has a beautiful tone when playing his clarinet [ he also plays tenor & sporano sax]. Here's the album :

I also saw them live when they were in Cape Town, they are a tight band, as was Al da Meola when he was here - a thoroughly enjoyable experience, one of the best concerts I attended.

The recording I'm referring to is this....

I like the Yellow Jackets, one of my favourite albums is "Altered State" with my favourite track off the album being "Unity", it just gets my foot tapping!

Another favourite of mine is Avishai Cohen, the bassist, there's a trumpeter by the same name. Recordings are always excellent and the music is exceptional. One of my favourites...

First track off the album - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLundbeIRLQ

He just released "From Darkness" some time this year, also worth a listen.

There's so much to share in this thread, going to enjoy this!
