We will make sure Dean eats all the silly-mid-off snacks. That way he is sure to get runs. Can you imagine if Jozua was an umpire. He would never raise his finger when the batsman nicks it to the keeper.

We need to change the venue I think - too many no balls and too close to consecrated ground next door.

One of the tracks we will play on Wed is Leonard Cohens "You want it darker" released 3 weeks before his death in November 2016

A small attendance at our 8th Feb meeting, to try out a different venue.  In a word, not really suitable.  A small room was too boomy, the large room too live.  We had the opportunity to listen to a new valve pre-amp built by John Gilmore which Andre brought along

Agree with views on the rooms. Valve pre-amp (with remote) sounded really nice and "matched" well with the club's "chip amp". Looks and sounds like a winner Andre. Thanks for a nice selection of cookies and good music Chris Clarke.

Soooo.... that's the thank-you I get after (being tricked into) supporting the morally bankrupt unholy institution called "CT HiFi Club"... tsk, tsk, tsk... :whip:

... an all-male gathering that KK visits only to sleep during the sessions in the warmth between the but-cheeks of others... and Dean frequents for free food and the opportunity to flog his snake oil lubed cable at unsuspecting newbies ... and the one who-won't-be-named uses to terrorise the audience with his spitzen-crackle ...
Poor Anthony... how do you cope...

Yes, there is photographic evidence for all these claims, nothing is being alleged nor fabricated - no fake news here!

There is no trickery here as far as I can determine.  This TT was donated to one of our members (Anthony) who paid for it to be repaired.  He in turn gave it to me to dispose of as I thought fit, and I duly placed an advert to sell it at considerably less than the going rate

If you give me your banking details, I will gladly refund you the R1600 you paid me.

Further to the above, since the Hi-Fi Club guys all live in a commune, we share tasks as well as mistresses and in this case, asked KK, with his superior package handling abilities, to pack the TT securely and have it ready for collection

Hence it is a collaborative effort, Anthony did the scrounging, Jacques did the maintenance, I did the advertising and KK is doing the packaging.  Now no-one can argue that this is a true socialist sharing of efforts. Even our illustrious uncle Julius of EFF fame could not have shared out this task better

Want a preview of the club's proposed new venue?  The audio fidelity in these august surroundings will never sound better
