I will ask Matthew what was behind the screens.  He did say it was Dolby ATMOS but didn't elaborate further about the specific make

@Mervin

The AURO3D demo was done using a DATASAT processor over GENELEC (made in Norway) active speakers & subs.

An excellent turnout on a sunny Sunday to the Vinyl Faire.  Dealers arrived at the gates at 8.30 and business was bring transacted by 9.00.  23 dealers turned up (thanks guys) and because of that, the turnover was slightly down per dealer, although business was brisk

The next one will more than likely be on Sunday 28th February.  We are going to look at a new venue which has been offered in Woodstock and if it suitable, go there.  If not, then the Wynberg Boys' Junior School is our first choice

Due to increased costs, both the annual subs to the Hi-Fi Club need to be increased as also the dealer fee for the vinyl faire.  But rest assured it will be a mild increase, just to cover our costs and make a small profit

The Rand has slid so far that to provide for imminent inflation the fees should at least double.

Just saying.

Only double?  No, more, more...    Several dealers have offered R50,00 for a day.  Don't want to be greedy, but the club has very little money left in the bank and meeting fees to pay have gone up 40% for 2016, so we must do our homework re subs and vinyl fair fees

All LPs are second-hand, except for some promo 45 rpm 10" discs that Andre "acquired" from somewhere.  We never got to listen to them since the TT would only rotate at 33 1/3 rpm.  Someone even found a BoneyM disc so we had proper Christmas shopping music

Is it the port in the speakers that make the majority of speakers bought in Cape Town of the bass reflex type?   :whistler:

Well, a bass reflex must have a port, or it would have to be a sealed enclosure

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to The Cape Town Hi-Fi Club for a kind and thoughtful gesture. I shall forever cherish this moment.

I had recently suffered a most frightful and unfortunate bit of bad luck. The incident (now is not the time for details) resulted in me breaking every bone in my body. I was languishing in ward F3, the last open ward in the condemned East Wing of Groote Schuur Hospital, and none of my family had come to visit in more than a month. I had given up my will for living due to the constant pain, and was in the motions of trying to end it all by holding my breath when suddenly, with much commotion, in swept the full complement of Cape Town Hi-Fi Club members with a gift of flowers and "Eine Kleine Nachtmuzik". Hot on their heels were the Audio Video SA paparazzi.

Thank, you fellows! You have certainly made life worth living again!  :cleansound:
