Our quest for a suitable venue for a Cape Town Audio Fair got a substantial boost this morning when a group from the Cape Town Hi-Fi Club again visited the stadium in Green Point and looked at some smaller rooms

We all consider it to be almost ideal and unsurpassed in value for money

The larger rooms available are carpeted, have acoustically treated ceilings, are well supplied with AC power plugs
   Each one is airconditioned
There is secure parking on the same floor as the meeting rooms
2 different types of rooms are available:
6 separate rooms, each 25m x 15m with individual access to the foyer area
A further 4 rooms, each 20m x 10m with individual access to a passage leading to the foyer area
All the rooms have built in AV equipment and a projection screen
Food vendors are welcome to sell their goods in the large (60m x 30m) foyer
The stadium is a well-known Cape Town landmark, everyone here knows where it is and it is in a good suburb (Green Point)
The building is 10 years old and has been immaculately maintained by the City of Cape Town
The stadium management are most accommodating
The waterfront is 5 mins drive away, you could in fact walk

Currently, we are considering the last week-end in April, that is 24th, 25th and 25th and will pencil in alternative dates during 2020

Dealers and interested participants will shortly be invited to a meeting, once our meeting plan has been approved by the Stadium management

In the second picture, you can see how the walls of the larger rooms can be rolled back into the open position.   In the first picture, the walls (to the right) are closed.   The third picture is of the smaller rooms

Traffic into the general area is fairly dense during the week.   From the Southern Suburbs it took 40 minutes.  Over a week-end it will be half that
There are many hotels and AirBnB establishments in the area

To answer a query, on-site inspections can be arranged so you can see what you are getting

During 2020, SA Rugby will be a big player in the stadium, having taken the decision to vacate Newlands

Thanks for accurate and comprehensive description Chris. The venue certainly is appealing and suited to the needs expressed for the expo. Watch this space for further developments as indicated.
