Leaking batteries is a pain. I have switched almost exclusively to Energizer. They seem to leak less than Duracell.

I have just purchased the GP ReCyko+ PRo, 2700mAH rechargeables (AA's & AAA's), let's see how they go, but generally rechargeable batteries leak exponentially less than normal batteries do
This stereo record cannot be played on old tin boxes no matter what they are fitted with. If you are in possession of such equipment please hand it into the nearest police station

I will not be buying from Camerastuff again. They shipped my order without my accepting their quote, nor had I paid for the order. My quote from https://batteriesonline.co.za/ (Varta batteries) arrived on the day I received my goods from Camerastuff. Worst of all was discovering that the Panasonic batteries from Camerastuff are about three times the cost of batteries from batteriesonline(Varta). I paid Camerastuff and told them that they are very expensive and that I will not be shopping at them in the future- received no reply from them, three days have past. So I recommend that you buy from https://batteriesonline.co.za/

^^^ Sorry about your experience Stan.
I've only bought from the actual shop in Blairgowrie; I had no idea their online shop operated this way.
In fact it's highly unusual for any shop to ship goods before payment (payment being, effectively, how you 'accept' a quote).
Pretty sure they're not allowed to do this. I'm sure you're within your rights to return the product for a full refund.

Regarding the cost of the eneloops, I think their pricing (if the website pricing is accurate) is not that much different to the US:
http://www.camerastuff.co.za/shop/79001-eneloop-pro-aa-rechargeable-ni-mh-batteries-2550mah-8pack.html VS
https://www.amazon.com/Eneloop-Capacity-2550mAh-Pre-Charged-Rechargeable/dp/B00QVNQ810/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1536429277&sr=8-6&keywords=eneloop+aa+2550

I'm not defending them, just saying that (good) rechargeables can be expensive, eneloops even more so, because they really are very good.

I'd be interested to know which Varta rechargeables you went with, and how much cheaper they were.
Was it these green ones?

Nidri; there is no need to apologize. I am grateful that you lead me to good quality rechargeable batteries.

No, Camerastuff do not operate that way; it was a mistake. Because I received the goods I just thought to save any hassles I would just pay for them and move on.

Yes, those are the Varta that I purchased; cost was about R114. I also bought a four pack of AAA, about the same price. I can tell you the exact price if you wish. I see that although Varta is a German product , these are made in China; perhaps that is how they get them to be so cheap.

Well, time will tell which is best as I have them both.

Just Stay away from Eveready, as they are Neveready!
When I used to buy them, they did not last more than a few weeks and some even leaked.... I dont see it being a good battery....

I now only use Energizer, they are great, dont leak and lasts super long!
