:point:

Thx for the warning, but it came too late!  ;)
Siemens,in my case. Love the extra detail and transparency in the Pred. Fortunately, apart from a Hi Fi Tuning fuse from Croak, that was enough for me.
Hope your new baby comes soon and that she will deliver schweeet sounds!!  :cleansound:

Whatever you do never, i repeat - never change a "stock standard" 6922 there with a NOS, even if i beg you to do it !

Bit confused with above. First tried a Phillips Miniwatt SQ (dankie Rudi) in the Exclame 150 and huge difference. Picked up the Siemens CCa NOS the weekend (dankie Rudi), and even better. Had Adriano (juventino) here yesterday with his Exclame 100 and I think he can attest that the Phillips Miniwatt we dropped into his  made a significant difference over the stock JJ.

Thing is, roll valves to your desire fellas. Only reason why I do not drop one, or God forbid 10 Siemens / Telefunken / Philips  or whatever brand rocks your boat into an Exclamé or the Big Fella Genesis? Where do I get sufficient stocks (let alone pay for those to have them in stock) of those touched by an Angel valves? And how do I repeat that when the valve goes in time? Only so many NOS stock pearls to be found before the fountain runs dry.

I also would have to sell the product not for the same price anymore, but bump up to accomodate those. Yes, I have had dozens of the ones you guys want, and fitted and sold them to the odd guy here and there. Sadly I do not have the time to sit and place orders all the time, hence a stock of the usual get it around the corner types is what does the trick for me. Repeatabilty  :2thumbs:

The standard ones do not sound so bad after all.. and I daresay, open up a 230K ARC phono stage, and you see the same standard types I use inside of those.

And to throw the Whisper into the mix, quote from the Master;

"Jou Whisper sal verstommend klink met vier Siemens CCa buise in, of Telefunken E88CC, Philips Miniwatt SQ, Amperex Bugle Boys. Keuse is joune en word net deur jou beursie bepaal."

;-)

If you were going for sarcasm you hit the nail on the head.

The change in tube in my Exclame made a huge difference. Tighter and more pronounced bass on the 100.
As for the 150 I now understand what Schalk meant when he said to me "It's a completely different beast"

Anyone that wants to have fun with the Exclame I say tube roll to your delight. You can change the sound signature till you find exactly what you want.
Time to get back to when I enjoyed listening......no more upgrading, more of a headache than a pleasure

So what you are saying is that you are rollin' in your 150 with the ragtop down so your hair can blow?
Are you waiting for loneliness to paralyse? Are you waiting for sister midnight to anaesthetise?

Doubt there will be much hair blowing with Adriano...

Hehe, off course Ilko was being sarcastic,to try and explain his upgraditis!  :point:

And Schalk, this is actually a pat on the shoulder. Off course you have your good reason for the stock tubes and they do sound good, but I think it's testimony to your amp design, that SQ differences between the tubes are so audible, and can be used to fine tune, instead of hunting for other brands!  :cleansound:
