That is the question and probably been over-analysed on this Forum.
I have a Mede8er 200X, which I use often, but more as a "convenience" when I do not want to swap disks or turn over LP's.
The MP3's Bite Rates range from 128 - 192, so will a DAC make any difference ito sound quality or "volume"?
I found that the levels are quite low for music playing through the standard Mede8er output.
