This is a bit of a spinoff from Hein's post ( Just not as dream ;D , my budget doesn't allow) .
What's the basics or a tone arm?
I decided to go with a gimble , Unipivot and parallel sounds too "NEWFANGLED" for my taste.
Here's where I stand:
Ordered some miniature bearings for the top( Up/Down) motion and some precision ground pins( REALLY Precise bis)
Sourced a hollow Carbon Fibre shaft for the arm
The body I'll machine from Aluminium
Headshell Design? ( just need a general direction , I'll machine it from Al too)
Anti skating ( HAIR I got ;D, the weight I'll work out)
Arm length?
