I just got me a Garrard 401. It has been hibernating in the original owner's garage for some years now. Any tips on restoring it? In particular I need to know about servicing the bearing. Also, how to refurbish the platter and control knobs? One of the knobs has an aluminium decal on it, while the others seem to have lost theirs. The stock mat is quite loose-fitting. What is a good replacement?
