So I was recently helping someone with getting the LMS working on nas4free. The further idea is then to add deluge (torrent client), sickbeard (tv management) and perhaps couch potato to nas4free and then create an image for easy install.

Any suggestions on software that you would like to see on this image?
Any suggestions on how to create this image?

As of today lms is installed and working plus sickbeard is installed and working but needs to be still tested.

Yeh not a fan of clonezilla for usb sticks. When I tried it recently it was going to take 4 hours for 4gb. Plus it is not ideal for general Windows users. Was more thinking line of unetbootin

Software ON the image  :comfort: :point:

So I was recently helping someone with getting the LMS working on nas4free. ...
:notworthy: ... and it's been running ever since, no issues.

Did you mean to say LMS7.2?
Sickbeard "TPB Edition" a possibility? :whistler:
Remind me - can Deluge scan RSS feeds and auto-load torrents from there, like uTorrent?
That automated image backup you mentioned; "DD", was it? that would be nice. N4F creating it's own image copy on another machine

I stumbled upon a number of negative views on unetbootin. I too had problems with it - unbootable images, 50/50 chance of success.

Clonezilla... if I understand correctly, you have to boot with it - it's' a hassle.

I used Win32DiskImager to clone flash drives. It's slow-ish, but not THAT slow! IIRC, 15-20 minutes for a 4gb stick.
Edit: Oops. Last time I actually used ImageUSB by PassMark, both to create the image and to write it onto the stick.

don't know sickbeard.

I do everything through rss feeds. Why deluge? transmission works and is ROCK SOLID.
There is one for nas4free. Actually it was for freenas 0.7. not too hard to get it working for nas4free.

But I think it makes sense to package it with.

Here is a how to (3rd post from the bottom):

Sickbeard has some nice stuff mostly wrt metadata and great mgmt interface.

I'd prefer uTorrent above all, but Linux port seems to be in endless alpha cycle. From what I've seen or been told Deluge is the next best.
- plugin based (open) architecture
- enormous community support
- kept up to date almost daily

So the image is ready and I have send my guinea pig the link. It runs Nas4Free with TheBrig extension for the Jails. Currently there is three Jails that can be started independently.
1. LMS
2. Deluge
3. SickBeard-ThePirateBay Edition

I'm running it of a VM that is on a SSD so not to sure about performance yet but I would recommend a USB3 flash drive, 8GB minimum size. Will let Mike give feedback if he is going to use it and test it. Some screen shots:

Make a Distro, then share the torrent with us :point:

Okay this is the link. Not to be used with an existing config yet so it is more for people doing a brand new setup. I'm waiting for a config file to see what happens if you backup and import your existing config.

You need this to write the image to USB

http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

The USB drive must be at least 8GB and I would recommend a USB3 to maximise the speed you get from USB2. The download is around 600MB

I'm going to make a slightly smaller one tonight as it seems that it might cause problems on some 8GB usb sticks. Will post link either tonight or tomorrow.
