Hi All, i am new to the forums, but have been scouting around and noticed a few guys here in SA that are also on a few other international forums. In particular guys with a similar interest in the Thorens Turntables and modifying them. so to the point...

I recently got hold of a TD150 and have upgraded the plinth and modified a few things according to other advice from the likes of Steve over at http://www.theanalogdept.com/index.html. He was kind enough to show me the scheme of the R7 mode he reconstructed and i have since modified my own version of this. This all went well. so no issues there. My question is regarding the screen cable in the original tp13 arm. When I originally connected everything up before do the modifications everything as working fine. I had taken the head shell off and then the cartridge just to check out a few things. As i was putting it back together the red cable on the head shell came off from being so old. I have re soldered it and the right channel is still not working? I am not a seasoned soldering enthusiast but im pretty sure i got it right. My question is, can the cartridge (wich i am not clued up on) fail one channel or something?

Since then,  i have completely dismantled the whole tone arm and cleaned everything and all the DIY is finished and put together enough for testing and fine tuning.  I still dont have a right channel and there is now a humm... that damn humm. I connected in the same fashion/config as previously.

Any advice would be awesome. If youneed photos i have, as i have been documenting everything to give to http://www.theanalogdept.com/index.html to add to his web page.

Thanks in Advance, Dean.
