Will there be any advantage in replacing a speaker in a radiogram?

I somehow think now that I popped the question, the answer will be a big "NO!" but anyway, here goes.

The recently acquired HMV radiogram was fitted with a 7" (180mm) Celestion alnico driver with 3.2ohm impedance.

After err...consultations with a wellknown AVFSA member a few days ago, he estimates the radio/amp to have an output of around 3W.

I have some idle, modern 100W drivers on my racks with an impedance of 8ohm.

What can be expected if I substitute one of these 100 watters for the 3.2ohm Celestion? Probably awful sound as 3W won't drive them properly?

Btw, there is nothing wrong physically with the Celestion speaker.
