Depends on your definition of lousy...

Anyone have any experience with the Behringer U-PHONO UFO202? Looks like a reasonably inexpensive way to get the TT output directly to your PC.

Whoa!

That does look sweet..! So easy with your iPad too. I have no experience, so cannot contribute, but would like to add my 'ooo' and 'aah'.

How much is it?

From Amazon including tax estimates comes to under R500 (does ship to SA, so no forwarding companies required). I did call a local store, but they said no stock and maybe end of Feb.

I've acquired a NAD PP 3i. It does max 48/16. Any point in recording 96/24 in Audacity if that's the max the device will output?

How good are down conversions these days? They used to be a big issue going from 48 to 44.1 for eg.

I would test it out, if making needle drops to play on various players/systems, incl CD based, recording in 44.1 may yield better results then converting later.

Primarily it's going to be for making CDs for my folks of old stuff.

I've tested 44.1 vs. 48 and *I* can't hear the difference, so seeing as I need 44.1 for CD I'm going to go with that.
