"Microsoft Tech Support" scam

Got a call this morning from a guy (foreign accent) claiming to be a Microsoft tech., apparently my home PC or laptop is spewing out error messages and that he was going to assist me in sorting it out. The call sounded long distance, he said he was in JHB when I queried his location. It had all the markings of a scam and when I mentioned that all my home PC's were Linux-based, he hung up.

I've since discovered that this is an old scam for users to download some dodgy software. Problem is that these shysters have personal info like your name etc. and they sound very convincing...so I'm going to have to warn the rest of the family and lay down some security rules.
