I have been using some homebuilt ancient powersupply which I think came from an old Supersonic portable radio. It worked but had some faint hum which I couldn't get rid of.
The other day, I picked up a switch mode p/supply with specs 24Vdc 1.0A which I built into an RS project box with IEC fused socket for power in and the power out lead with its 6pin din connector (and a blue LED ;D) at the other end.
And it doesn't work. The Nagra's motor must be drawing too much current and the LED even goes out.
The deck can take p/supplies between 12Vdc and up to 30Vdc but I'm not sure of the amperes required. I have its service and operating manual here but until now couldn't find specs for the equipments power supply details.
Any ideas?
Thanks
