Ja, die onnies was spesiale mense, het my liefde vir die Afrikaanse taal gekweek. Ek moes selfs 'n Afrikaanse meisie trou! :Whoohoo:

Where love is not...and then where it is.

It's not in her eyes or her heart
Her sandalwood scent,her undiscovered art
It's not in the style that she lacks
Her pink pyjamas,her tacky slacks
Can't be found in the smile that she wears
In the madness of her anger or despairs
It's not in the questions that she poses
Her Jimmy Choo's or Gucci glasses

It's what you see inside her soul
When indiscretions break the whole
It's how you remember who she is
When the time comes to forgive
And if you hurt regardless of reason
It's the summer you bring to this winter season
She still can fit you like a glove
And if you let her......
Then this is love.

Like it...

Is this place just full of ignorant heartless boertjies?where are all the English laureate's with an educated appraisal?

But you said bugger honesty ( I paraphrase), be gentle. I'm confused.

So, not being gentle, nor being a poet, I say don't force the rhyme as it makes the line stilted sometime, approaching doggerel.

Adie i wrote another two,am i getting worst or better?

The war criminal rises and speaks.

In the depths of my despair you were there
Amongst the ruins beyond repair
In the eyes of deathly stare
My soul laid bare
You were there.

In the deathly boom of evening shroom
Amongst the bamboo fields of asian bloom
You took me to my room
From this tomb
You were there.

I saw you i confess in Marilyn's dress
Amongst stars in the sky you wore even less
You removed me from this mess
Trigger finger did caress
You were there.

Trampoline.

This ever changing variance in position
Leads me to a sad derision
And i thought you were my one fixed star
But the drifting compass drifts afar.

My trampoline your pitch is perfect
Missing sometimes but not far off it
My hopeful heart your feet have landed
But not a moment and then it ended.

Now on your upward bounce from worth
I ask that you consider earth
For when the bends of space have shifted
This trampled man will keep you lifted.

I don't know why you ask me- Johnny on the spot- but, IMHO, better, much.
In fact, IMHO, Trampoline is darn good and the previous one a good ramp-up.

The problem for any writer- take the recent reviewer thread- is avoiding well worn cliches.
I have fallen into writing purely as a prop for my work of compiling newspaper competitions- and hey presto am suddenly a travel reviewer. Cliches and other pitfalls abound.

The Spinning Wheel.

The spinning wheel
Tosses truth
In a revolution
Altering youth.

The mud the mire
The spit the sand
Of every turn
Cut blood cut hand

Poorly turning weakly holds
The dreams of greatness lost and sold
The spinning wheel now square won't turn
Rest of the earth that made you burn.
