Anyone have any experience with this preamp? I had my son buy one for me used in CPT and retrieved it about a year later. Both ECC83's and the ECC82 were weak and it used this weird proprietary and short 7 pin Chinese rectifier that is basically a 6X4 with a different pinout so I made an adaptor and replaced that as well.
All was ok for about a month, then I started having a muddy sound for the first 5 minutes and isolated it to the preamp. The mud started lasting longer and now never completely clears. I have replaced the preamp wit a SS McIntosh and this is a work room system, but I really would like to find the problem and put the Marantz back into operation. All the tubes test high. Any ideas? BTW this is not ptp wiring.
