Recapping of vintage equipment isn't restoration. By definition, restoration means returning to it's original condition.

Oh, what difficult hobby this is. When you hear something new you'll find yourself swapping out or upgrading kit.

A friend had some frames put together by a picture framing place.  There is one in Park Road, close to Witteboom station on the Main Road side.  He just used square section framing timber and glued the corners well.  I have a picture frame cutting guide if you want to use it.  You clamp the timber in and it cuts a straight 45 deg angle when you apply a saw to the slot

I built my own frames and covered in cloth for  diy 1x12 Guitar speaker cabinet I built.
Not hard. Just takes some patience.
Hardest thing is finding suitable cloth to use in South Africa....   :headbanger:
