Who can help me to fix speakers (external)?
« on: September 27, 2012, 09:51:15 PM »
Hi All,

I'm not sure where to post this. I stumbled upon a pair of Sonus Faber Electa Amators. They sound fine and the drivers seems to be 100% but the boxes have seen better days. I'm looking for someone who can restore the wood to it's former glory. I'm based in Pretoria but Jhb is also good? I'm obviously willing to pay for the service. Anyone?

Im very jealous! Hows about you post some pics?

Your best bet is to pm JimGore or Perfectionist on the forum here.

JimGore has been extremely busy with work lately so not sure about his availability but he LOVES wood and his knowledge of wood types and how to produce a good finish is second to none in my opinion.

I bumped into a wood wizard a few months ago through the forums but lost his contact detail. He PM'd me and I will be popping by this morning.

GECO, I will certainly bring the speakers around to your place if you want to try them on your system. I need some assistance with setup on the Linn LP12 I bought from you. I fitted a MC cartridge (bought from Gearslave) but I'm dumb with vinyl. Will be in contact.

Here are some pics of the speakers. I think they were used in a cave or something but hopefully I managed to save them in time.

Think these are Amators, not Electa Amators.
Lovely speaker regardless and more friendly.

I stand corrected. They are Minima Amator speakers.
