Getting excited reading all these suggestions  :Whoohoo:

just a question -  in order to get the proper surround format processed on the avr, will old blue ray players or newer entry level one's (like the Samsung BD-J4500R) actually give you the correct surround sound, being that they state that the dolby decoding channel is 2?
or will i need a higher spec player such as a Playstation3 or a samsung J7500 which the dolby decoding is 7.1?

So in other words will i get the correct 5.1 or 7.1 surround through these older or new cheaper players that state the dolby processing as 2.1?

AFAIK all BDP's will (have to) decode Dolby & DTS surround formats. Some of the first players may not be able to decode Dolby TrueHD or DTS HD MA, but they should then automatically revert to the next best audio codec.
