Best Sounding Blu-ray Movie

So far the best that I am aware of is Black Hawk Down. Is there anything better or equal to it?

Wow there are so many movies that sound awesome to me.

Finding Nemo, all Transformers, Tron, Pirates of the carribean, iRobot, LOTR, the new gen batmans, Saving private ryan, Band of brothers... usually any sound track touched by Skywalker Studios.

I cannot really pic a specific one as 'the' best. I do agree about BHD, excellent sound design.

Yeah, I guess that there are many.

Master and Commander - really creates the sensation that you are on the ship, with all the creaking wood, wind and water. Amazing.

I haven't watched the latest release of the Star Wars collection, but my guess is that they would be right up there.

if your system is up to it and if you really have 7.1 surround then "Avatar" has one of the best sounding soundtracks i have come across

the scene where the "hero" gets lost in the woods and the wolf/dog creatures stalk him is absolutely incredible - in a well setup system you can hear howling from outside of the room and you actually imagine these things climbing up the tree (even though surround sound isnt really supposed to convey height information) and the footfalls as they follow him around

and after the "heroine" kills the wolf/dog creatures when you see the small firefly type insects buzzing around they really sound as if they are buzzing around your head - the sound projects incredibly well

and the most incredible 20 seconds is when the aircraft go to destroy the huge tree that is the habitat of the planets local inhabitants there is a scene where they fire smoke bombs at the natives and those people are forced to flee - but as the smoke spreads on your screen you hear the sound of it wooshing from the front and past your seating position only to end at some point way behind you it is incredibly realistic

but mind you .... your system needs to be setup properly to hear those effects in the way i describe them  ;) just remember though if you do not hear the effects as i describe them it doesnt mean that you have a bad system (or as some would try to claim that i have bad ears and an active imagination ) it just means that your system is not setup like the better ones that i have heard this soundtrack on  ;)

Lies I never said anything about your ears, must be that overactive imagination :point:

But a big +1 for Avatar
