I've just booked my flights for Maputo - Lee Ritenour on 15/11 and 16/11! Looking forward to see him perform with Sonny Emory on drums this time - I've seen him with Dave Weckel and the 2nd time with Will Kennedy on drums.  :Whoohoo:

Did anyone go to Suzanne Vega @ Monte Casino....?
Only saw the ad as I rode past there a few minutes ago. I'm kicking myself for having not checked whats cutting at Monte as I normally do.

Abolute Huge WOW! To say that the Lee Ritenour concerts in Maputo were exceptional, would be an understatement. What made it more satisfying personally, is that I got to meet Lee, Patrice, Mel, Sonny & Lee's guitar technician. As we stayed in the same hotel (Polana), my friends & I bumped into the band on a daily basis, several times a day, and could have extensive conversations with them on the airport as well, as they took the same flight back to Joburg. All musical geniusses in their own right, but so down to earth. Needless to say - I've got pictures, video clips, autographed Cd sleeves, one of Lee's plectrums & Sonny's drum sticks, but  most of all, I'll treasure those memories forever!

One of my all time most memorable life experiences ever!

Absolutely! Second time. Last year was absolutely amazing. The venue is also better this year and is only about 10 minutes from my house.

There's a live music bistro opening in Braamfontein on 14 March.  It's called The Orbit, will be focused predominantly on Jazz, but will host a blues evening once a month as well.  If you remember Peg’s Cosy Corner in Troyeville in the early 2000's The Orbit has some of the same proprietors.

Opening night Friday 14th of March 2014 sees Feya Faku starting @ 20:30

and Saturday 15th of March 2014 has Concord Nkabinde doing his thing also at 20:30

81 de Korte Street, Braamfontein, 2001.  Tel: +27 (0)11 339 66 45
