REPAIRER/TWEAKER DETAILS LIST....
« Reply #16 on: May 18, 2012, 05:53:07 AM »
I spoke to the dealer where I bought my kit about the repair and they said they have a reliable guy somewhere down the KZN coast who they use. I'm not trying to do them out of business but if anyone knows who this guy might be I'm sure it would be useful info for other forumites.

You guys in Joburg don't know how spoilt you are having all the good resources close by.

An acquaintance called me earlier to ask who in Cape Town can repair her Denon CD player.

If anyone has a name and contact number, please advise here.

Thanks

Try Bertie Genade on 021 - 911 0600 / 073 223 0663 to check if he can help you.

Mods : is it possible to move the "Repairers/ Tweakers Details List" to GENERAL?  Personally I think most of these types of questions pop up there. Thanks for your consideration.

probably the best place to take any denon product is Proteknik in claremont on 021-6741126.
note they have moved premises. but thephone number works.

they are denon repair agents aswell.

Last Friday I was looking for somebody to fix my Jamo Classic 8's - the plastic bits on the posts had become brittle with age and were all packing up. I also had a suspected blown tweeter on one of them. After phoning the local agents with no joy, I eventually called the distributors in Jo'burg. They said they had a guy and passed me on to Theo van den Hoven from Sound Inspiration in Hout Bay. He came to me in the city centre the same day, picked them up and I had a reasonable quote before lunch today. He seems very knowledgeable, I am not sure what makes he can service, but so far he's been spot on. I will provide feedback once the job's done.

Had my B&W sub repaired- the pre-amplifier circuit for speaker input conversion- at Clive's TV & Video Repairs at The Heritage Market, Hillcrest (KZN). Tel 031 7652986.
Cost all of R325. Took it in Thursday 1pm and it was ready Saturday morning.
Referred by Audio Architex.
The name wouldn't suggest hi-fi repair but there was a steady stream of customers with dvd players etc- and I saw a new-looking AVR on the repair bench.
I guess I should have twigged when I popped in years ago and there was a Plinius power amp (drool) on the floor.
