To the forum members who have tweaked their audio equipment: please share some of your experiences. Here, I am referring to new op-amps, tray or power supplies on your CD player; new caps or transformers on your amplifier; improved cross-overs, bracing or damping on your speakers; etc. Is tweaking a worthwhile exercise in terms of sound quality? What kind of tweaks are advisable? Are the parts readily available? Do you need a degree in electronic engineering to undertake basic modifications? Which makes and models of hi-fi lend themselves to modifications? What are the limits to successful tweaks on various components? Any useful websites that you could recommend?
