stupid question of the week

I have a Vincent cd6mk cd player with balanced lines out - it also have a volume knob on the player, can i hook this up directly to my valve amps ?

Also can i use both balanced and "rca" together - when i listen cd's the Pre amp will be switched off and just the cd playes direclty through the valves and then when i watch TV or whatever i use the "rca" input - really hopes this makes sense to anyone
